The Truth About Meditation

There are oceans

inside

of you

I used to consider myself as someone who would never be able to meditate. My mind was so loud and jumbled I couldn’t imagine sitting down and finding a peaceful moment. “My head, it’s like scrambled eggs!” I’d blurt out to my husband, Jake.

Over time, as I walked through more and more avenues of wellness and healing, meditation became my inevitable next step. The pull of curiosity and intuitive knowing that I needed to do this for myself was undeniable and led to a New Year’s commitment in 2022.

Now that I’m here, I can’t imagine a life, a me, without meditation. This type of practice goes far beyond mental health - it opens up a doorway to you.

Meditation gives you the space you so desperately need, but fill throughout your day. It gives you connection, not only with yourself, but with life at large.

And it doesn’t require perfection or mastery, just practice. We are all capable of practice. Like finding the right therapist or library book, I believe there is a meditation style and teacher out there for everyone. If you’re here, reading these words, you may enjoy the meditations I’ve created and published on Insight Timer (the largest free meditation app). Folks especially enjoy the Overwhelm Meditation (over 13,000 plays and counting). See you over there and please believe me when I say, if I can have a meditation practice so can you!

P.S. Since I’m not active on social media, I rely on the growth of this community to spread in a very organic fashion. If you have not already joined my email community, I invite you to sign up below. By joining, you will be the first to hear about new books, meditations and blog posts. I’ll also share the occasional aha moment that I’m facing. Additionally, I ask that you send this blog post to someone in your life who you think would enjoy it too. I’m glad you’re here and thank you for your support.
